So let’s talk about Pinterest. It’s huge, ridiculously huge in fact and my first initial impressions was that it was basically a do it yourself site with crazy craft ideas and recipes. My second actual impression was that mostly women are on it at any given time as it’s like their new Facebook. Lord knows my wife can spend hours on that site when we’re watching a hockey game on TV.
Let’s get down to the facts though, what really is Pinterest? Here’s the real definition taken straight from there site on what Pinterest is and what it provides.
Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests.
From reading the rest of the description at Pinterest/about, I feel my impression is that it’s still a site tailored to women so they don’t have to fluff through the thousands and possibly even millions of tailor made man sites to get their fix of the internet. Quite honestly, I think that’s a great thing too.
