This version of my portfolio website was creating using CouchCMS and was intended to by my test site for SEO purposes. For the time it was running, it served me well. I however wished CouchCMS was more fluid with me like WordPress is. This is the main reason why I’ve decided to switch to WordPress and build templates out for my portfolio themes. Overall, I do like CouchCMS for smaller projects that don’t require editing and updates every day.

Franklin Park Baptist Church
I’m currently managing this site and all the information that’s attached to it. It was originally made by a company and their promise of a “formatted site” that the person who bought it would never have to worry about. Well, the company that created this template went out of business and was bought out by someone else. So I decided to speak up at church and am now tasked with creating all of the HTML/CSS needed to keep the site running for new and returning visitors to see.
This site is currently handled with basic HTML and CSS as well as all of the web administrative duties that I’ve been tasked with such as weekly updates, image updates, and editing processes.
DalelKhalil.com – Author Website
Dalel-Khalil.com was a client I’ve had who was looking to have a site made that was easy on the eyes and even easier to update. With a limited budget, we settled on WordPress as the content management system so she could update it immediately with no hassles.
We went with this particular design as we were able to create a social media campaign on the front page coupled with image heavy posts with targeted keywords. It took one day for the images that were uploaded to get indexed into Google and it’s image searches. I had to create custom CSS per the author’s specifications as well as various tasks with programs like DreamWeaver and Photoshop.
YinzPitt.com – Entertainment / Pittsburgh Blog
Yinzpitt is my creation and in depth exploration into a pure grass roots social media campaign. I’ve promoted it with nothing but Twitter, Facebook, organic SEO, and linking partnerships. It’s done relatively well in regards to a Pittsburgh-centric ranking and is still pulling in unique views even though I don’t update it as much anymore.
I would say in terms of learning especially with various social media strategies, Twitter has been the king in terms of immediate posting and gains compared to YinzPitt’s Facebook page. Most of my articles are released during the day and see good returns from the work force crowd with a significant drop off after 5 pm. Twitter has been YinzPitt’s best tool and I can’t suggest enough that no matter how big or small a site is, engaging the user base is not only rewarding, but a large increase in potential viewer’s opinions and ideas as well as immediate feedback.
Alberts Gifts (Retail Website)
AlbertsGifts.com is the retail website of the company I work for. It’s run on an ASP.NET platform(a third party handles the deep database coding) and I’m currently in charge of the integration and processing of all orders made through the site, simple graphical updates, and daily administrator tasks such as customer support, credit card restrictions and security, product uploads, setting up promotions and coupons, and just making sure everything stays in check with the site.
As far as an SEO campaign, we’re ranked highly(as in top 1-3) in our heavily targeted keyword selectors. We ran pay-per-click campaigns through Google Adwords and Microsoft Adcenter. We’re heavily involved on link partnerships through LinksManager.com, and for the past year or so we’ve been trying to upstart a Twitter/Facebook campaign by running promotions and coupons to attract users to see our site.
AIMGifts.com (Wholesale Website)
AimGifts.com is the wholesale website of the company I used to work for in Pittsburgh.
During 2010, I was tasked with implementation and testing of various aspects of the ASP.net wholesale website. From managing the e-commerce section, to making sure the products uploaded, to the initial copy text placed on the site for SEO and ranking purposes. While not only helping with the development and creation of the website, once it was live and as my position dictated, I was tasked with learning MYSQL commands in order to aid with functional troubleshooting of the website for various potential issues(like credit card processing failures as well as customer integration failure).
